The Beginning

Welcome to our blog! I am very excited to start sharing our DIY projects and before and after pictures of our house. I decided to start this blog because so many of our close family and friends live out of town and are not able to help with see our new house and the changes that we are making. As a quick preview - we have been busy tearing down wallpaper, painting paneling, ripping out shag carpets (not JUST shag but lime green and blue shag), and pulling out counter tops. Believe me, it has been a pretty messy but fun 2 weeks. 

Sneak peek of progress.. this is the dining room with primer!

It is hard to believe that we just closed on our house 2 weeks ago and we already have gotten so much done! We have had some pretty great family and friends that have helped along the way, we really could not have done it all without them. Seriously, we would probably still be living in our 70's-inspiried-shag-carpeted-dark-paneling home saying "ah, nevermind" or "we'll get to it one day."

Stay tuned for some really interesting (read as hideous) before pictures and the progress so far! Everyday that I walk into the house I find it hard to believe the changes we have made in such a small amount of time. I will also be sharing some of the DIY projects we tackled before we even signed the closing documents.
